Scary night with lady K

That was kinda scary! Kinleigh woke up coughing aroun 2:30 this morning so we did a nebulizer treatment. She fell asleep nursing during the treatment. I could see her nostrils flaring and she was grunting and almost crying with each breath. I kept waiting for it to settle down so we could go back to bed and I noticed she was getting hot. Highest fever all week was 99-100 but it was 103.9 when I checked it. Doc told me if it went over 102 she needed seen. Then she started coughing like crazy and throwing up a little not catching her breath well. She was looking slightly purple and I knew she needed seen. So off to the er we went. Her o2 was 88 when we got there. Put her on oxygen and then did a breathing treatment. Dr decided she needed a chest xray. She fought that like crazy! Dr came in and said she had pnemonia and needed to be hospitalized for iv antibiotics breathing treatments and oxygen. Said she would probably be in for 3-4 days. I had to choose between 2 hospitals so I chose the closer one in wenatchee. Only an hour drive. They would not let me take her due to her breathing. She was up to o2 of 96 when the ambulance arrived. It was so sad seeing my baby girl strapped in her carseat strapped to the gurney being wheeled into the ambulance. But she was a trooper and did not even cry! I ran home to grab a few things and then headed to wenatchee. When I got to the er there all the nurses were snuggling and trying to make her happy. She did not lift her head when she heard me I walked over so she could see me and she looked and then started crying for me to hold her. O2 was at 97. They gave her motrin and tylenol for the fever and just watched her. The er doc there said he saw no pnemonia on her xrays and because her stats were good we did not have to be admitted! I cannot tell you how relieved I was....I had so many christmas plans and was dreading being in the hospital away from all my family and alone. So we are home. She slept on the drive but won't go back to sleep, go figure! Follow up with her ped tomorrow. Thank you all for your concern!
