Just a brag on myself :)

This morning I decided to pull out a pair of size 11/12 jeans that 8 months ago I couldn't zip let alone button up cause of the huge belly roll. 2months ago I tried the same jeans on and was excited that they fit but they were a bit too snug for me to be comfortable so I put them away (I HATE belly rolls hanging out over my jeans) This morning when I stuck them on they zipped and buttoned with no effort at all and there is little to no roll over them !!!! YAY YAY YAY So I next pulled out a few shirts that were almost garbage 8mo ago as I knew I would NEVER fit in them again and hadn't worn them since before I got pg with Kaeden. They still aren't something I would wear in public quite yet, however they fit and look decent if I suck my gut in!!!!!! YAY YAY YAY They are kinda going out of style, but let me tell you when I can fit into them perfectly I'm gonna be one out of style happy to be in my "Skinny clothes" momma LOL

To top off my joy of fitting into my clothes, I was dropping my son off at preschool this morning and one of the Moms who I see regularly at MOPS (she is in my group so we see eachother every other week there) and I see her 2-3 times a week at preschool, she looks at me and says have you lost weight because you're looking really skinny lately!!!! YAY YAY YAY YAY~!~ I swear it's almost like people are afraid to ask me if I have lost weight since I've started this journey and when someone notices I am beyond ecstatic. It's such a wonderful feeling.

Much better then the last time I was feeling so wonderful about myself. I'll never forget the first time I got excited about my weightloss... I had lost 10lbs and was able to squish into a pair of pants that were practically unwearable before. Sure they were a tad tight, and the shirt was a 2x but it was REAL clothes rather then sweats and a sweatshirt as I had worn for the past few years. So I went into public that day feeling like a million bucks. Stopped to get the staple removed from Kaeden's head and while at the Dr office ran into my stepdaughters old babysitter and we started chatting. Next thing I know she pats my belly and says another one???? I wanted to absolutely die :( :( :( My wonderful happy feelings were quickly replaced with horrible fat ones :( I think today was one of the first days I've allowed myself to feel like I was accomplishing something and I got a positive response out of nowhere and it just made my day :)

Ok enough of my novel, time to end this :)

I Know Why Gas keeps going up Mom

So a few weeks ago we were driving and I almost fell over as I realized that overnight gas had gone from 2.87 to 3.02 per gallon. I asked Steven if he knew why it jumped so much and he said "I dunno, but it sure went up with authority!". That evening we were all sitting around watching TV waiting for Kaeden to fall asleep on the couch and he looks over and says "Mom, I know why gas is going up". I was definitely curious so I asked him "Why"? "Cause when you push on the gas pedal the car speeds up" LOL LOL LOL He was so serious too! I told him he might be onto something ;) The way his mind works just amazes me. He started preschool the first week of Sept and is LOVING it! He wakes up every morning hoping it's a school day and reminding me to get out of bed so he's not late. Even when he's stayed up way too late he has no problem jumping out of bed to get ready for school. Now to get ready and not dawdle around is more of a problem, and if he's up too late at night when he gets home from school he's a bit of a MONSTER!!!!!! All in all I am so very proud of him though. He is teaching himself to read~! I don't know how he's doing it, but he is able to read so many words now it amazes me. He had a book we checked out from the library last week that is simple, but not a beginner book, and read that whole thing to me! I had to help him sound out a few words like chameleon, should, etc but once I helped him he remembers them! When we go to the library tonight we'll have to find some easier books so he can start reading me nighttime stories ;) I am beginning to fear that he is learning everything so quickly and come kindergarten he is going to be very bored. I hope I'm wrong! I know academically he's not learning anything at preschool, but socially he's really responding well which was my main reason for going to preschool this year. I guess only time will tell!

Last weekend we all packed into the van and drove to Grandma and Grandpa Goodwins house to see my Great Grandma Velma, Great Uncle Everett and Cousin Marie who flew out here from Missouri. It was absolutely a wonderful weekend and so many people came to see them it was like a giant family reunion! The backyard looked like a circus on Sunday and a great time was had by all! It is probably the last time I will see my Great Grandma Velma alive which was sad, but happy at the same time as I was sure when we visited her in Sept 02 I'd never get to see her again and I was wrong!!! How great that she was able to see Kaeden again after seeing him at 3 weeks old, and that she was able to meet Kailer, Lexus and Quintin as well. She's definitely slowing down at 92, but she's still doing excellent and amazes me! She loves to laugh as always and gets around for the most part on her own with a cane. Slowly but surely. Here are some pics from the weekend.

The summer is almost over.............

Ya know I really really hate how quickly time flies once you give birth to a child. Before I had kids the time just kinda was there. Once Kaeden was born I swear I blinked and another one came along and now they are almost 2 and 5. yes in two more days my "baby" turns FIVE years old :-0 5 yrs ago today I was working my last day at the Travelodge before giving birth since I knew I was being induced on the 29th I chose to take the 28th off to prepare. I'd already worked almost a week past my due date and through the harsh summer heat so I felt I deserved one day before my life changed forever. Who knew it would change it so drastically? My Tiny man starts Preschool on the 5th and I'm so excited for him but it makes me a bit teary to think of him being in "School". Even though he could go to Kindergarten this year I've chosen to keep him out one more year. #1 I don't think Mommy is ready for her "baby" to be in Kindergarten LOL #2 I don't think Kaeden is ready as he has never been in a structured situation with other kids/adults etc and I'd love to ease him and us in with 3 days a week for a few hrs a day before he's a full time M-F student. He'll be going M-W-F from 9:30-12:00 which will work great with our schedules. What in the world with kailer and I do without him for 2 1/2hrs? Kailer will miss him I think. Guess we'll find out next week!

This weekend is the boys' birthday party. Saturday at Noon. We're going with a blue's clues theme and I think they'll have a blast. Kailer is IN LOVE With Blue right now so he's just going to flip over a blue cake ;) I can't wait to see his face since last year he didn't really care much what the cake looked like, although he did enjoy eating it!

We've been home from our first vacation for a week now... I wanna go back!!!! We took an 8 day vacation to the Oregon Coast. It was WONDERFUL! We expected rainy weather for our camp trip but we got blue skies and sun! Granted it wasn't 80-100 like it is at home when it's gorgeous and sunny but it was 60-70's and very nice. Better then I had hoped for! We started the trip out by staying at Grandma and Grandpa Goodwin's house Fri night. Corey, Cassie, Bri, Kyle and Taylor joined us around midnight and we all got up Sat morning to head for the Old hwy and check out the waterfalls and the Vista House. Had a lovely picnic off the side of the road and then headed to Warrenton which was about 5miles from Astoria to set up camp! Camped 2 nights in Warrenton and the first night we got rained on pretty good. When we woke up Sunday morning to clouds and drizzle we prepared ourselves for a rainy week of camping. We drove up to Astoria and visited the Astoria Column. It was quite the hike (164 spiral steps up!) to the top and Kaeden got scared so Daddy stayed down with the boys while I ran up (LOL ok so more like huffed and puffed up) to take some scenic photos and then get back down to the family. Of course it started raining pretty good so we were unsure of what to do next on our adventure. We decided to head to Ft Steven's and check out the old military battery's. The weather turned nice and we ended up having great weather for walking around outdoors. Ft Steven's is HUGE and after the military stuff we drove up and walked out to the Ocean to see the wreck of Peter Iredale. The kids were so excited to finally be seeing the ocean as was I since we'd been on the "coast" for a whole day and I had yet to see it ;) Next we headed to the South Jetty to see where the mouth of the Columbia River met with the Pacific Ocean. Very cool view! Very cool thing to experience :) Then it was back to camp to prepare for Monday.

Monday morning we woke up to blue skies, packed up camp and headed to Ft Clatsop. What a cool place to visit. The kids had fun but weren't too fond of the 2+ mile hike we did. LOL After lunch in the parking lot at Clatsop we headed to the Seaside Aquarium. The kids had fun and fed the seals. Kailer was a bit afraid of them. From there we split up and Steven the kids and I went our way and Corey and his family went theirs. We chose to head to Cannon Beach and visit Haystack Rock. Unfortunately the tide was in so we couldn't do the tide pools. I was a bit disappointed but the boys had a blast playing in the sand and Kaeden and Steven headed out to do some wave jumping :) Kailer and I dug holes in the sand. Then we met back up with Corey and headed along the scenic route to Nehalem Bay State Park to camp for our 3rd night. Our campsite was just a hike over the dunes away from the beach and Steven and I hiked up to catch some sunset pics. Unfortunately the sun was gone so I got a few pink sky pics and after catching our breath and finishing our dinner (we hiked with our hot dogs in hand so we WOULDN'T miss the sun LOL) we headed back to the campsite. It was a funny site as we had we clothing and towels draped over every available tree branch LOL Unfortunately they didn't dry too well since it wasn't blazing hot.

Tues Morning we packed up camp again to head to our last camping destination of Cape Lookout State Park. On the way we went to Tillamook for the day and visited the Tillamook Cheese Factory. Had some great samples, watched them make cheese and had some yummy ice cream cones. Then we drove 20 miles East (The longest 21.8 miles of Steven and Corey's lives) to the Tillamook Forest Service Center. This was an awesome place for the kids! It was very hands on and taught us about the Tillamook Burn. Corey took all the kids and left Steven and I with Kai and they played in the river for awhile. He brought me back a soaking wet muddy Kaeden... :p lol When we arrived at our campsite at Cape Lookout we were amazed! It was gorgeous. By far our favorite campsite yet. It was just a few minutes walk to the easiest beach access I've ever had on the Oregon coast yet! No walking over dunes, no walking through tons of soft sand.. Just walk over a few rocks a tad of sand and BAM you're on the nice firm beach. It was so easy that we were able to get the stroller down there! Behind our campsite was the biggest tree I think I've seen and the kids could climb i n and out of it! There were little hiking trails through what I like to call our "campsite's backyard" and the kids had a blast roaming around and we enjoyed not having to keep such a close eye on them as we had at the other sites. We fell in love with the site and decided to stay an extra night that wasn't originally planned. Lucky for us our site was not reserved yet for Wed night so we all agreed to reserve it again :)

Wed morning we got up and walked the beach looking for shells. I absolutely LOVE going for morning walks on the beach, it's so peaceful and beautiful. The boys enjoyed getting wet in their PJ's although they were a bit grumpy as all these long days and early mornings were wearing them out lol. After beach walk and breakfast we headed back to Tillamook to go to the Air Museum. It was pretty cool but not worth the $$$ In my opinion LOL but the boys wanted to do it and since they went to my Forest Center in Bum F* Egypt I figured I'd give in and go to the air museum. Next we hit the Cape Mears Lighthouse and the Octopus Tree and had lunch there at the park. It was a gorgeous day and the hikes weren't too awful. Ok who am I kidding?!?!?! I almost DIED walking back up from visiting the lighthouse LOL The Tree hike was pretty easy though.. short but steep. Then it was back to camp for our last night camping. Steven the boys and I headed down to the beach to catch that sunset I'd been trying to catch for the previous 2 nights and had a great time playign on the beach. Daddy pushed Kai all over in the stroller and Kaeden found seaweed and raced the waves.

Thursday morning we got up and headed for another morning beachwalk before we made breakfast and packed up camp. We got rained on for the 2nd time... Not bad at all!!! 5 nights camping on the Oregon Coast and we got rained on night #1 and night #5 and nothing in between! Cassie who is pregnant was not feeling so hot so Corey decided it was time for his family to head home as they had plans on Fri and Sat and could use the extra day to rest. We went our separate ways and the boys and I headed towards Lincoln City to stay a couple nights with Grandma and Grandpa at their beach house. When we got to the house Grandma and us headed towards Newport to see the Yaquina Head and Yaquina Bay lighthouses. Bummer they were both closed but we got some cool pics. There were bugs EVERYWHERE and I was a bit miserable, not to mention I'd left my inhaler in the van at the house so was afraid to do much hiking without it. On the way to Newport we stopped at the Devil's punchbowl and saw 3 whales playing in the ocean and I even managed a snapshot of a whale spouting! That was cool. We grabbed some ice cream and Steven fed a squirrel :-O Crazy man. In newport after the lighthouses we visited the Port of Newport dock and watched the sea lions make some serious noise. Heading back to Lincoln City we decided to hit the beach and went to the "D" River (the worlds shortest river). Kai really enjoyed playing in that water as did I cause it was WARM! That night Grandma and Grandpa watched the boys so Steven and I could go out to dinner and we went and had some great food at the Chinook Winds Casino and then gambled away the $12 cash we had left from the week LOL It was so nice to have a little bit of "us" time doing something that the kids just couldn't go do with us. We NEVER have that...

Friday morning we got up and Grandma and Grandpa took us to breakfast at the Casino. YUMMMMMMY! Went down to the beach behind the casino and of course the kids got a bit wet and dirty, what's new? Back at the beachouse Grandma watched the boys and they napped while Steven and I went shopping at the outlet mall down the hill. We got Kaeden a few shirts for school and 3 new bras for Me who needed them DESPERATELY! We all had hot dogs/sausage dogs for dinner and just hung out.

Sat morning we got up and packed up everything to go. We had breakfast, took some pics, flew some kites (kinda) and then all of us, EVEN GRANDPA headed to the park to let the boys play a bit before the LOOOOOONG drive home! It was a great park and we got some cute pics. I really enjoyed spending some time with my parents and wish we could do it more often. Said our goodbye's and hit the road for home. Along the way we stopped at Multnoma falls since we weren't able to stop on the way up as there was no parking at all. There wasn't on Sat either so we parked illegally, ran up and took a few pics of the boys by the falls and headed back to the van LOL We found ourselves a picnic spot that was unfortunately about 4-5 miles the OPPOSITE direction that we were trying to go. Drove another mile or two to find a turnaround and then on the road again. The rest of the drive was pretty uneventful and we arrived home around 8:30pm. It was such a nice feeling to be home......

While we were gone the hill across the street from us burned, but our house was safe and sound in one piece when we got home so that was a great thing! The van had NO problems and drove like a champ. No one was seriously injured (although Kaeden and Taylor managed to get some serious blisters on their feet from wet sand and sandals rubbing) All in all the trip was absolutely as perfect as I could have imagined.

Pics to come soon...... that was a LOT of typing lol

Photos From Kaeden's Eye Surgery

Kaeden had Eye Surgery

LONG Time no update. OOPSIE. Been a busy summer. Thought I'd better update that my "baby" had surgery this week on Tues July 24th.

Kaeden's surgery went well. We had to be at the hospital at 6am Tues morning and surgery was at 8. He did NOT like the hospital PJ's they had him wear and complained they were itchy. Took me and my grandma pretty much dropping him into his clothes cause he just did not want to cooperate and went into full tantrum mode. After we got him dressed Grandma took Kai to the waiting room and Kaeden and I sat on the bed watching TV. He kept telling me he wanted to go home and wanted to take those clothes off. The nurses came in and talked to us to prepare us for what was going to happen. They gave him his gas mask to take back with him and had him play with it before the surgery. It smelled like strawberries. The anesthesiologist (sp?) was great and came in to explain everything that would happen. I was relieved to find out that he was going to be asleep by gas only and once the gas was turned off he'd be awake in 5-15min. Also no breathing tube, just a tube to keep the tongue out of the way as he would be breathing on his own throughout the surgery. The paperwork packet that I had made it sound like he'd have a full tube down his throat! So he also told Kaeden that he needed him to think of what kind of story he'd like to hear while he was going to sleep. Kaeden chose a Batman story ;) One of the worst parts was when it came time to leave and they had to take him away from me. He asked them if I could go with him and when they told him no I fully expected a tantrum. Instead he looked at me with tears in his eyes and a smile on his face trying to be as brave as he could be and not cry. I was crying (as discreetly as possible) so that probably didn't help. They wheeled him away quickly as they said the longer we wait the harder it gets. That just about killed me. But he was so good and so brave and so cooperative. Phew it makes me tear up right now typing this out LOL Surgery took about 35min from the time they took him from me until the Doc came in to tell me everything went well and we could go see him as soon as he was awake. I was told to sit down for the first time I saw his eyes cause I could feel faint. When we went into the room they put him on my lap in a chair and he did NOT want to wake up. He was out LOL Kailer was excited to see his brother and kept wanting to kiss him. While Kaeden slept Kai flirted with the nurses and played with the balloon the nurses gave Kaeden. He tried tickling his brothers feet to wake him up (we were all trying to get him to wake up) and that just ticked him off. He yelled LEAVE ME ALONE KAILER. He did not want to be messed with. When he was first put into my arms he told me that they told him a batman story and that he felt the needle go into his arm, then he was back asleep. He started getting heavy on my lap so Kai and I went to fill his prescriptions while Grandma held him on her lap for awhile :) When we got back he was still snoozing but woke up shortly after that just freaking out! He was yelling and screaming that he couldn't see and his eyes hurt. It was HORRIBLE to listen to him. That was the 2nd hardest part on me. The nurse gave him a touch more pain meds and he relaxed and snoozed some more. He wanted a cold wet rag held over his eyes and that is the only thing that would console him. The nurse said this could go on all day so while he was asleep we took the IV out and just hoped for the best when he woke up again. He didn't wake up as angry although his eyes were still hurting and he still couldn't see. We managed to get him dressed and snacking on some crackers and then he seemed to be doing much better. We chose to have him wheeled out rather then carried cause carring a 50lb Kaeden to the van did not sound fun to me. He hopped off the chair when it was time and says "now where is that wheelchair?" It was too cute. I tried snapping a few pics but he did NOT like the flash so lots of them are blurry. He opened his eyes a bit and looked around and I just about fell over cause his eyes looked CROSSED! This was also the first time he'd gotten them fully open so I figured he just needed to practice with his new muscles. The Dr told me they'd be sending me home with a couch potato and they lied! He snoozed off and on for the drive to LIndsay's, had a little to eat for lunch and then played on the computer and kinda walked around zombie like but refused to sit. Then he started freaking about his eyes hurting again so even though they Dr's told me he shouldn't need any tylenol until right before bed I gave him a dose cause he was going nuts on me and I did not want my little man in pain! Finally got him down for a nap and we all napped for a few hours. From the time he got up from that nap around 4:30pm on Tues he's been normal wild child kaeden. No couch potato for me. :p His eyes were DEFINITELY crossed though and he is seeing double so I was terrified the surgery did not work or they did it wrong and it would need fixed. Talked to Doc about it at the Post Op appt and he said it looks great. The reason they are crossed is the muscles are sore so he's not using them right now and the eyes are turning in rather then out. Over the next couple weeks as they heal they should pull straight. I did notice that yesterday they looked better then they did the first two days so hopefully this is a trend that continues cause I don't ever wanna go through that again!!!

Through the eyes of kids

It never ceases to amaze me how little ones learn and grow every day. Driving through town today and listening to Kailer really made me think of what the world must be like in his mind. Things that I take for granted his little ears pick up. He hears a train going through town and he yells VROOM VROOM, he hears a car honk a horn and he says BEEP BEEP. These are things that I wouldn't think twice about, yet he finds fascinating. He is learning more and more every day. He's learned to show us and expect kisses for his owies, he's learned to climb up the swingset, he's also learned new words left and right, hot (hotee) water (watee) bottle, milk (mil) hello (Hewoooooo) Love You (Wuv Oooo) Oh No, Yucky, Ewwwwwww (usually while we change a poopy diaper or while holding a piece of dog poop for me to see UGH), Go (says this when he wants to leave and points at or walks toward the van) , eat, hungry (hungee), Hi puppy, Hi baby ( he LOVES to pack baby dolls around), eio efg tuv (trying to sing the alphabet), he also says efg or eio while pointing at letters and numbers, opens the fridge constantly as of last weekend, loves to help me clean and do laundry, tries to put clean dish towels away although usually they get put in the dirty laundry baskets so I have to watch him carefully, laughs at himself just to see if we'll laugh, and fake laughs at things that he thinks we'll think are funny whether it's something on tv or a picture on my computer. There is probably tons more I am missing but these are a few of the new things he's doing.... he's turning into a "toddler" instead of my baby :( Oh yes he says ni ni for night night and lays hi head down to pretend to go to sleep. He also has learned many things from his big brother that I wouldn't think 21mo old boys should know.... LOVES to play swords, shoot guns, and just be a BOY. Also loves spiderman (says it bie eeee) LOL

This weekend we painted our kitchen and two weekends ago we painted our laundry room and mudroom area of the house. I LOVE the way they turned out and would love to show you some pics but my lil man decided to practice his photography while we were mid painting and now my camera is nowhere to be found :p Still have a few places to search but I'm getting a bit discouraged that it hasn't been found yet :( I did take pics from Sat off of the camera before it was lost so I'll share some of those here. Thursday we were in the youth parade for Sage N Sun. The boys dressed up as Construction workers as the theme was spirit of the northwest. Kaeden had fun walking and throwing candy to the people on the sides of the road, he did ride in the wagon off and on as well. Gave Kai a sucker and he sat content in the wagon the whole time! We walked with our MOPS group and it was lots of fun. After the parade they had popsicles at the courthouse and then we took the boys over to the carnival to spend a small fortune on a handful of rides. Kailer rode his first rides and I didn't have my camera with me and missed pics of his first carnival ride. He rode on an airplane type thing with Kaeden and then on the motorcycles with Kaeden and had a blast! Kaeden also rode the roller coaster with Daddy and then they braved the Parachutes or whatever they were called, I call them the Umbrella's. HUGE ride that would make me vomit (Actually I DID vomit on that ride on my Daddy when I was 3 LOL) Kaeden absolutely LOVED it and Daddy and him went ahead and went on that ride one more time Sat afternoon ;) I took the camera this time and put out a few extra bucks to put Kai and Kaeden on that airplane ride again just so I could snap some pics ;) Kaeden is pouting in the pics cause he didn't want to ride that one, he wanted the roller coaster, but unfortunately Kai couldn't go on that one with him. Thurs night we also let the boys play a couple games and win a couple dinky prizes. It was a fun evening and the quickest $40 I've spent on absolutely nothing in a long time!

Sat afternoon we went to Ross's boys birthday party. Eli turned 7 June 7th, Lucas turned 2 June 10th and Issac turned 1 June 10th. It was a cute party and even with the rain that wouldn't go away the kids had a wonderful time. Kailer found himself the cutest lil girlfriend and Steven was in love with her too..... almost makes us want another... Almost.... LOL

Last week my Mom came up and visited for an evening and it was great to see her again. I sure miss her sometimes! I love when she gets to come and play with my boys, they sure love their Grandma!!! We got some cute pics of them playing outside in the water. Well time to go clean up house and relax for a bit, here are some pics....

Our not so amazing walk yesterday...

Copied and pasted from the Aug 02 board so I don't have to retype.]

Yesterday our family signed up to do an Autism Awareness Walk to the new monument they built and were doing the dedication for. There was a long walk and a short walk. The long was 3 1/2 miles and the short was 1 1/2 miles. I really wanted to do the long. I wanted the excersize and I wanted to know I could do it! After the ceremony everyone was to walk back to the park for Root Beer Floats.

We made it 1/2 way NOT including any of the tough hills etc and decided to turn back. I couldn't carry Kailer anymore he was breaking me and Kaeden was whining and crying and really struggling (until we got back to the park of course) and I was frustrated knowing we weren't going to make it to the ceremony. We were offered a ride back by the 1/2 way point people and Steven said Nah we'll walk. If we hadn't had kids this would have been great, but with the boys it was turning into a very stressful event. As the 1/2 way point people left to head back to the park they stopped to double check we didn't need a ride. Kaeden was crying most of the way, Kai wanted to walk but was more interested in wandering and was downright tired of being carried and I said Yes, the boys need to a ride back cause I can't manage this for another 40min LOL Steven was then upset because not only did we not "finish" the walk but we had to get a ride back. We ended up leaving as soon as we got to the park before the walkers got back from the ceremony. We never got to see the monument up close (it's not far from our house and we've talked about making the short walk after we drive most of the way to see it LOL) We didn't get rootbeer floats, adn we left feeling very discouraged. I'm still unhappy that we didn't finish...... I guess we learned a very important lesson. When walking LOOONG walks with children you either need a stroller for the chunky monkey cause Momma's back and hips can only carry him for so long even with the sling and when you've got a 4yr old you just need to take the short walk ;) We could have completed the short walk I'm sure of it..... *sigh* live and learn... Now I feel silly to wear the t-shirt considering we didn't even make it to the ceremony. Hey at least we donated our $30 to a good cause ;)
*End of Aug 02 boards post*

Onto other things. Kai is turning into quite the toddler! He is starting to copy words we say out of nowhere but only when HE feels like it ;) He loves to point out my eyes, ears, nose (this means giving me a beep beep) He's a running climbing fool now. Up on everything. Just when I started to feel safe letting him play in the backyard with his big brother while I cleaned the house inside he learned a new skill and I have to be outside monitoring him constantly now! He learned a couple days ago how to climb the ladder on the swing set and slide down the slide. Unfortunately it's a LONG fall and he's almost fallen a few times so an adult must be with him making sure he doesn't topple backwards off the swing set at all times. Kaeden is really great about catching him at the bottom of the slide though ;) If only he were tall enough to make sure he didn't fall off the top, then I could let the kids play alone again! Our grass is looking like a jungle right now because I reseeded the lawn last Sunday and now we can't mow til the new stuff comes up! The original seeding from March grew, but it was comign in patchy and looking like a balding man the way it was growing in. SOOOooo I reseeded and am hoping for the best this time around. Whatever does/doesn't grow this time will be my last seeding til summer is over. I am tired of having to keep the kids off the grass~! It's not a beautiful lawn by any means, it's got a ton of weeds, but they are green weeds and they are not stickers so I am not complaining LOL As long as it covers the ground, is green and soft I'm happy at this piont. Nothing is worse then the dirt/weeds and stump we had in there before right?! lol Here are a couple pics of Kai on the swingset and our patchy grass. That funky looking stuff is a patch filler we bought to give a try!

Speaking of funny things Kai says or does He has the "grump" look perfected and loves to give it to us when he's mad or when he's trying to make us laugh. He hasn't rolled his eyes at me in awhile which I suppose although not many people had the opportunity to see it, it's probably a good thing this did not become a bad habit LOL He is now interested in talking on the phone, and loves to say yes, owie and bye bye to whomever he is talking to LOL He is infatuated with owie's lately and is always showing me his owies... If only I could type the facial expressions he makes when he shows me an owie, unfortunately I cannot and will have to try to capture that on video someday. I swear Kailer talks SO MUCh with his face that it's amazing. Kaeden talked a lot with his face but Kai uses much more eye's and lips... Kaeden used more eyebrows. When cars drive by instead of saying car he goes "VROOM VROOM" in his best car voice ;) Kai also really knows what he wants lately. Got him out of the bath the other night and told Kaeden once I was done with kai he needed to get out or else Kai would want back in. Before I could get Kaeden out of the tub I hear him yell my name and when I get into the bathroom I find Kai fully dressed in his fresh diaper and PJ's sitting in the tub just splashing away....... *sigh* He climbed in there all by himself! Since when can he do that?!?!?! lol Kaeden thought it was pretty funny that his brother was bathing in his PJ's. Here are a few pics to show you these things...
He cannot help but smile since he's not Really grumpy in this pic LOL and then the other pics he is trying to be grumpier without smirking LOL it's too funny.

Since our last post I had my first ER trip with Kaeden for an owie~!! The kids were playing in the backyard with their new rakes and shovels they got for Easter.. Tatum was pulling the branches of our tree down with the rake so that Kaeden and Triniti could grab leaves off for whatever stew or fairy food they were concocting that day LOL The branches slipped and the rake came down on Kaeden's head putting a nice round hole in it. I took him to the ER expecting that they would not do anything for it since there wasn't much room for a stitch. They cleaned it up and said one staple should do it! I was like oh here we go....It took 4 of us to hold him down to get the needle in to numb it. That was one of the most horrible things I've ever had to do to one of my children. if it had been MY head with a hole in it I would have left the hole alone and NOT gone to the ER at all LOL And here I was forcing my 4yr old to be numbed up :( He was begging me to let him go, get him out of there etc and it was breaking my heart. Once the numbing was done the staple went in super easy with no tears. Once the staple was in I got really hot, really sick to my stomach and really shakey. I had to sit down so I didn't pass out LOL I felt sick to my stomach for 2 hours after that whole thing was over. Kaeden loved showing off his staple and had it in for 11 days. He was a champ getting it removed and hopefully we dont' have to do anything like that again anytime soon!

Since my last post I have also joined Weight Watchers officially. I'm losing but it's Slllooooowwwwww going. I'm down 10lbs since starting my weightloss journey and 7lbs since starting WW as of last Monday. My weigh in days are Monday so we'll see what that scale tells me tomorrow! I'm also trying to become more active and it is NOT an easy thing to do! We went last weekend on a hike to lake Lenore caves and had a wonderful time. We were supposed to go today but Steven's back is really hurting him and he's sore from our walk yesterday. He ended up carrying Kaeden for a little while so I'm sure that's what made him sore, and his back was already giving him problems before we even started the walk. It was lots of fun and I hope we make it back to the caves soon. I want to get a new camera and then go to the caves again ;) Wouldn't that be nice :) *sigh* Someday I'll get the new camera I want!

Well I really should end this for now. I was not doing a very good job updating so I will try to be better again. My children always say the cutest things and do the funniest things and I imagine coming here and what I should post, what I should title it and what pics I should include and then I never do it. Bad Blogger!!!!
