Immobile Days Officially Over

Well as I suspected in my last post, my immobile baby is no longer immobile. After returning from camping Memorial Day weekend Kai officially started to crawl. He probably would have crawled that weekend but the weather while camping was snowing, raining and all around cold so we couldn't really put him down on the ground to enjoy himself. Our camping trip went wonderful even though we got lost going up and had to turn our minivans into 4x4 machines on mountain backroads and ended up with a bad alternator on the drive home... Thank goodness for AAA and Tammy's ex husband *lol* Yes Tammy's Ex had to tow my van back to tammy and Jared's house. How ironic huh?

Onto more updates... Kai has now mastered crawling around where he wants to go and pulling himself into a standing position. He has not really started cruising yet but that will not be far behind either :( My baby is turning into a toddler right before my eyes. 2 Nights ago kai pulled himself up onto my nightstand, then moved himself to Kaeden's car bed, back to the nightstand and then to the side of my bed. This is the extent of his cruising at this point. I wish he's just slow down with his learning lol He has gone from having no balance whatsoever a month ago to becoming VERY balanced the past week. When he started walking holding our hands all over the place he was super wobbly, no foot control and if I let go of one hand he would fall. Yesterday we walked the living room while I held onto just one hand and he walked like a big kid. He has also managed to stand for a few seconds at a time before crashing down on his bum. Kaeden loves to come along and help Kai stand up and walk the living room. He's an awesome big brother. Kai can also follow him around the house now and I've heard them playing in the bedroom together and it just melts my heart.

Quick update on our house... We are so close to closing on our first home that I can't stand it!!!! We have an inspection on the house July 7th at 10am and should close the week after! By July 15th the house should be ours. We had a major scare with the loan last week though. Stupid loan guy didn't find that Steven had a judgement/lien against him for his court fines that we pay monthly and called me TWO WEEKS before closing to let me know that we had to pay off the balanace or could not get the loan. That was $3843.50 to come up with.. OUCH. Thanks to my Daddy we did not lose our home..... I was so scared..... I paid the balance off with savings money, and my Dad reimbursed me the money so I could put it back into my savings account and we now will pay my dad the monthly payment rather then the courts. It is a nice feeling to know that debt is taken care of through the courts as he's had that fine since he was a minor~!!! We've put so much into that house to lose it now might just send me to the looney bin! We are hoping that before the 7th we can get in there and finish up as MUCH as possible so that we can get everything on the loan at once rather then having to pay parts of it out of pocket. We'll see what happens.

Last Weekend my baby brother became a married man!!! Crazy to think that he is now a husband and a father. Lucky for me I love Tammy like she is a sister and a best friend and couldn't have asked for him to marry a better woman. I dont' have very many female friends so having her in our lives has been a blessing and it's nice to have someone I have so much in common with ;) Kaeden and Kai love their Aunt Tammy to pieces and we are so happy that she is now part of our crazy family.

After the wedding we all headed to the Oregon Coast for their Honeymoon LOL My mom helped me out more then I expected and I couldn't possibley thank her enough for everything she did for us. The help with gas was a tremendous help, and then to pay for our admission to the Aquarium, Ripley's and wax works was just great. We still spent more then we should have for the weekend but I think I can mess with some numbers and make things work out smoothly in checkbook/bill land ;) THANK YOU MOMMY (I know you read here) Not only did we hit the Aquarium, Ripley's and Wax Works we also went to Sizzler for dinner (first time for me) and WOW was it yummy! This was one thing that I did splurge on for our family a bit and we enjoyed every minute of it. That evening while checking Jared and Tammy into their motel room we all walked down to the beach and Kaeden and I played in the ocean. It was absolutely awesome!!! We tried running from the waves but Kaeden isn't a very good runner in the ocean lol I told him he couldn't run and he told me " yes I can run, I just fall better" lol Everytime a wave would come at us he'd turn to run and then drop to the ground or lift his feet off the ground leaving me to drag him out of the water and leaving both of us soaked. It was the best feeling in the world playing in the ocean with my son.
That night Daddy gave me a grand tour of all the work he has put into their beach home.. WOW it's amazing what he's accomplished. Everything has been done by him from the ground up and this home has totally taken shape and we were even able to sleep in a bedroom downstairs and shower! Ok so the walls were see through but it was still great ;) As we were driving home Steven told me that he is so impressed and proud of my Dad and all that he has done with that house. He said that he wishes that when he was my Dad's age he could be as talented and dedicated as my dad is and that he didn't have the back pain that he has because he doesn't think he'll ever be able to do anything like that... It made me sad and proud at the same time. Proud of my Daddy, sad for Steven...
Monday before we took off for our LOOOOONG drive home we headed back to the beach to play in the water during the day for a bit ;) This time Steven got to play with Kaeden in the ocean. I got to walk and just enjoy the sand and the waves and the sunshine and the breeze... I never wanted to leave! We found crab-like creatures that buried face first into the sand when you touched them lol We got a kick out of picking on them a bit. Kaeden Grandma and I worked on a sand castle and then dug a hole in the sand.. It was so fun and Kaeden didn't want to leave. Grandpa helped Kaeden and I find some aggets on the beach and we brought a few home along with a few seashells. I found a giant rock that was filled with holes and seashells and I just had to bring that rock home to put in my front yard when we move into our new home!! Guess what? Yesterday I looked at my rock and it looked odd?~?!? Cracked?!?! what the heck?!?!? My rock was crumbling to pieces LOL What looked like a rock, felt like a rock, etc was not a rock at all, it was more like clay!! Oh well, so much for that yard decoration. The drive home was great and we even managed to miss Portland Rush hour traffic after leaving Lincoln City a little too late. We hit Portland at 5pm and didn't get stuck in any jams!! WOOHOO We stopped by the Bonneville Dam but it was closed, we drove across the bridge of the gods and then most headed home with no more stops. It was a great weekend and we'll treasure it forever~! Unfortunately my camera got left with tammy's brother so I'll have to post pics at a later time.

Ok gotta run, Kai is grumping... At least I got some typing out. I still have more to update on so will do that later!
