Welcome Quintin Reice Zumwalt

Once again long time no post. I'm horrible at this! I'll just do a quick update as I don't have much time right now..
Dec 13th 2005 at 2:01pm my nephew Quintin Reice was born to my brother and Tammy weighing 6lb11oz 20 1/2in long. He had to be taken via c-section due to Tammy tearing so badly with her first sons birth and was admitted to the NICU for 5 days for low blood sugar but is out and doing wonderful now! He's just the cutest little thing you ever saw and when you sit Kailer by him he makes my little man look like a moose!

Kaeden, Kailer and I went to Hermiston last week on Dec 19th to stay with Tammy while Jared had to go back to work and help her out. It was wonderful spending so much time with my family and sure makes me miss them when I had to come home! Steven surprised us by showing up Thurs night instead of Fri night and we all had a great Christmas on Sunday. Christmas Eve Tammy Steven and I (and Santa) were up VERY late putting the finishing touches on gifts and wrapping and setting up trains etc and didn't go to bed until 4:30am YIKES. Jared got off work and home at 6:15 and Grandma Vicki and Grandpa Mel showed up around 7am. We all opened stockings and gifts and then back to bed for a nap for all of us ! LOL Then at 4pm we headed over to Grandma V and Grandpa M's house to have Christmas dinner which was delicious and home cooked by Grandma and to do our White Elephant Gift Swap. That was fun and Grandpa Mel decided to do a little swapping with Steven ;) Next year we hope to do the same thing but plan a little bit in advance so we can have longer to shop for it!!! I can't wait. All in all (other then Santa forgetting to put Kai's gift under the tree!!! That's what happens when Santa is so sleep deprived) it was a wonderful Christmas, and we all enjoyed spending time with family. The little ones made out like bandits and Kaeden had a blast opening presents for Kailer and himself.

Kai is growing so quickly. Last time I weighed him he was 12lb even but I'm sure he's over that now. He eats like a horse and is exclusively breastfed still which I am very proud about! He's smiling up a storm and following me around with his eyes everytime he's not in my arms. He's definitely momma's little boy for now and I love it! The night before we went to Hermiston (Dec 18th) he started "talking" in bed and hasn't stopped since. He still isn't vocal all the time and sometimes seems confused as to where those sounds are coming from but it's SO CUTE to listen to him make those noises and experiment with his voice. He's wearing mostly 3-6mo clothing now and Aunt Tammy let us borrow a few of Quintin's new clothes until he's big enough to wear them, he just looks adorable in anything I dress him in! Also during the week in Hermiston he started concentrating on grabbing things. Mostly grabbing at strings hanging off of Grandma and my hoodies. He succeeded a few times but doesn't seem to have any desire to grab at toys yet. I tried putting him under his little turtle gym today and after about 5min he was DONE. No desire to kick and grab at those dangling toys yet. I swear this morning he rolled over in my bed but it must have been an accident as I also tried to get him to do it on the floor this afternoon and he just smiled and gurgled at me but made no attempt to roll towards me. He's a drooling fool and I think he might be starting to teethe. If he's not teething he's just a drool king! He will attack yiour knuckle and gnaw away at it like Kaeden used to do, but I have no idea why he's doing it if he's not teething. Guess we'll have to wait and see when those little teeth start popping through! I'm not ready for them yet as I remember the little bites Kaeden gave my nipples and I do NOT want Kai biting me like that! He must be going through a growth spurt right now as he is on my boob 24/7 the past few days and seems to be tired or grumpy all of the time. I hope it ends soon as my poor nips can't handle it!!!

I am going to be working at H&R block this season once again while Jannett watches the boys for me so I've been trying to stock up on my freezer supply of milk. I am trying to get my hands on a double electric pump to make things easier and hope by the end of next week to have one whether I buy it or WIC lets me borrow it. I tried Tammy's out and loved it!!!!

Well Kai has awoken and is screaming at me to come love on him for awhile so time to wrap this up~! will try to upate shortly after the new year!!!
