Little Mr Sensitive!
So Kai still isn't feeling well and it's driving me insane. Poor little guy has had the runs for a month now and the past few days have been hell at night with him crying most of the night. I'm currently trying to cut peanuts and dairy out of my diet and tomorrow will start cutting wheat out to see if it helps him at all. He has been pooping bloody green mucusy poops and is just miserable while trying to get it out. It breaks my heart. Here is a post from my Aug 02 boards that explains what happened with him today..
We went to Urgent Care and of course didn't figure much out. Doc ruled out hernia, ear infection, no breathing problems even with his cough his oxygen levels were 98 which was good. Of course he smiled for the nurse and acted happy but he did show the doc a bit of his grumpy side thank goodness. He thinks maybe he's constipated and a hard poop is blocking somewhere in there and the diarhea is getting past it and that's why it's so hard for him to push the watery poo out. He gave me a scrip for suppositories and we gave him one tonight which made him crap and he pooped the suppository right out! I did finally get the suppository to stay up inside of him after a few tries but unfortunately the poop that was coming out while putting it in had blood in it that was definitely noticeable. The nurse told me to call the nurse from his doc's office tomorrow morning and let them know what's going on with him and to ask for a stomach x-ray to rule a blockage up inside of him out. I broke down crying when I told her he has had this diarhea for a month now and I'm getting frustrated that I can't figure it out. He slept in Daddy's arms while we watched a movie for 2 hours and just woke up and doesn't seem too grumpy yet. We also went to Walmart and I bought him some stuff from Gentle Naturals that is called Tummy Soother. It has Chamomile, Ginger and Fennel in it. Not sure if the pooping or the soother helped but something helped him sleep for awhile this evening crying free. I just hope that when we go lay down here soon that he still feels ok and sleeps through the night! I am just praying that we don't have to stop breastfeeding because of these issues. I am doing all I can to cut dairy out of my diet and will start tomorrow cutting wheat out also but have no idea where to start. At least when I'm at work I don't eat much so it's less tempting to snack on stuff that I can't have. Anyone have any ideas of what I CAN eat now that I am not eating Dairy Wheat or Nut products as of tomorrow? If so I'd greatly appreciate them!!!! I hate seeing my baby in pain and not being able to fix it Thank you for your concerns and P&PT earlier.
Onto a few other things. This afternoon we went to check out a babysitter for the boys once Jannett is no longer available to watch them while I work at the end of Feb. She has 2 little girls who are 2 and 3 yrs old and is pregnant and due in may. The family seemed really great and Kaeden had a wonderful time playing with their puppy even though he did bite his butt LOL Ok so it was his upper back thigh and it was an accident as they were playing tug of war and Kaeden was running from the puppy with his rope and the pup accidentially caught leg instead of rope. She has very reasonable rates and is affordable even though it will eat up most of my paycheck it will help me to finish out the season at H&R and get my bonus check ;) we'll have to wait and see what happens.
Kailer does not like to cough or sneeze. It's funny because as a newborn if he yawned it would make him cry. Now it seems if he coughs or sneezes it makes him cry. If I am feeding him and I raise my voice to Kaeden or if he pinches my boob and I raise my voice and say OW he will start screaming. I think I've got a sensitive little man on my hands and these tummy problems definitely don't help!
I am working really hard to build up a "dairy free" milk supply in the freezer and am dreading having to dump all of my frozen milk that I have pumped the past few months. I refuse to dump it until we're sure it's a food issue though as I'd REALLY kick myself if I threw it all out only to find out that wasn't the problem at all.
Kaeden had a great time this weekend as his sisters were here and Lindsay came to town so he got to see Taylor and Sydney. Things went pretty smoothly and he was sad to see them all go today. He really has separation issues and hates for anyone to leave his house as much as he hates for me to leave him at anyone's house or for him to leave once he's at someones house. It really drives me insane and makes me feel guilty when he is crying at the door "mommy don't leave me!!! Don't go to work!!!" Although when I pick him up and we're in the van even though he tells me he cried and missed me he also proceeds to tell me that he doesn't want to leave cause he's going to miss Jannett and Bryce LOL He can't make up his mind! Also seems I've taught him a new phrase... "I'm gonna piss my pants" when he needs to go potty.. Oops! Mommy needs to watch what she says. It really cracks me up when he says it though! Tatum also crascked me up this weekend. When I went to kiss Tate and Trin night night on Friday night I kissed Trini and said "night Trini" then I kissed Tate and said "night Tate" and she looked at me and says "Jennifer, you can call me Tatum Olivas" very matter of factly LOL She's growing up so much!!!! Melissa bought pizza Fri night and everyone but me had some and then she stuck around to watch "The Cave" with us. Wasn't scary and wasn't that great of a movie. We also watched "American Pie Band Camp" and "Bad News Bears". They were pretty good! Definitely worth watching.
Well I need to go change the laundry so I have clean dry clothes for work tomorrow and try to get some sleep tonight. Kai is awake now and fussing a bit and I"m really hoping that it doesn't turn into an all night scream fest once again, although I've prepared myself for the fact that it probably will! I'll update again soon and will try to add a few new pics with the new program Picasa that I downloaded!

Happy Late New Year!
Welcome to 2006! I cannot believe it's been over a year since I found out Kailer was joining our family... Wow....
Not long to type as Kai is in a bit of a grumpy mood this evening but if I don't update soon I'll forget all his new milestones!
Friday January 13th Kailer laughed his first real laughs!! We were laying in bed for the night and he was not wanting to go to sleep. He had slobbered all over his face and clothing (something that is very normal these days) so I grabbed a spit rag to wipe up the slobber and change his wet pj's and started wiping the spit up. When I wiped his chin and chest he laughed at me! It was great! Steven Kaeden and I all got to hear his first laugh together.
He's also started grasping things very well. He concentrates very hard on what he wants and then slowly he reaches for and grabs whatever it is and immediately brings it to his mouth. It's so cute to watch him learn new things!! He loves to chew on his bibs and spit rags the best but has a couple toys that keep him entertained for short periods of time. He still loves his swing the best and stays pretty content in there during the day. He hates tummy time and will have nothing to do with it, even if Mommy is laying by his side talking to him.
Tonight 1-25 Kailer learned to blow bubbles and was enjoying making noise and spitting allover himself. It was great.
At his Dr Appt on Monday he weighed 12lb8oz, up one oz from his WIC appt 2 weeks ago which is a bit concerning to me. He's been having some symptoms of a food allergy and I've started on an elimination diet. I started with peanuts on Monday and tomorrow I"ll start with Dairy. If I don't notice a difference in him I will then eliminate wheat. If I still don't notice a difference I'm not sure what we'll do. Dr wants to see him in 2 weeks to see how it's going and to get a weight check. This weekend at Tammy and Jared's house he had 3 diapers that were blood tinged which is not a good sign. I was really glad that the Dr took my concerns seriously finally! Between the mucusy poops, the blood in the poop, the excema, the gas, the "colic" I'm sure something is not right with my little guy... Not to mention the diarhea and poor weight gain so I sure hope we can pinpoint what I"m eating that's not agreeing with him!
I've started working for the season at H&R block and it's going ok. It's a nice break from the boys during the day but I sure miss them come afternoon time! It'll be nice to have a few paychecks of my own though :) Too bad Jannett is only available til Feb 19th :( I hope I can find someone to watch them until the season is over so I can get my bonus check! LOL My boss is retarded and doesn't make schedules!!! I go in when I want and leave when I want... Drives me insane but sure is nice when I"m ready to go home and just walk out and leave LOL
