Week 16

How time flies. I had planned on writing daily/weekly and it's just not happening, so I guess this will be another long update as long as the kids stay quiet and permit me to type.

I am now officially in my 17th week of pregnancy!!! I am 16weeks2days complete! I had my Dr appt on March 18th and was lucky enough to get another ultra sound. I waS 14 weeks pregnant and we tried to see the sex of the baby. Doc thought for a second he glimpsed a peepee as did Steven and I, but said that it was so quick and baby was so small he wouldn't say it was a boy or a girl at that point. Everything else looked wonderful and it felt so great to get to look at my lil bean. He/She is really looking like a baby now! I've got a face shot to show off here and will post it for all to see. Bean looks a bit like skeletor. I'm usually referring to Bean as HE as I have a gut feeling along with that u/s saying it's another little boy. In the pic Bean has his hand on his mouth, possibley sucking on fingers so he looks very skeletal!!! My next appointment is scheduled for April 15th to get measurements and HOPING that bean will show off proudly what he has or doesn't have between the legs! What a wonderful birthday present for me! :) I can't wait. Only 2 weeks to go.......

There is bean for you guys :)

Last weekend we went to my Grandma and Grandpa's in White Salmon for Easter weekend. It was a great weekend minus all the stinkin rain. W e really need it but it kind of sucked it had to happen that weekend. They cancelled the Easter Egg Hunt for the first time that I can ever recall, so the kids just got to see the Easter Bunny and get a handful of candies and an egg with a 50cent piece in it.

The Easter Bunny spoiled Kaeden and Lexus as usual and they had a wonderful time tearign into the baskets Sunday morning. Unfortunately shortly after Lexus got pretty sick and slept most of Sunday away with a little fever.
The weekend was a blast all in all. Uncle Scott took us all out to pizza Fri night where Kaeden really enjoyed playing with Lexus and cousin Aimee. Wow Aimee is looking and doing great. She's been battling anorexia for a year or two now but wasn't "diagnosed" until last fall or so. She was down to 72 lbs at her lowest and is now up to 86lbs and looking great. Her attitude is wonderful also. I've never seen her so happy as i saw her playing with Lex and Kaeden this weekend. Almost brought tears to my eyes. Kaeden fell in love with Aimee and probably would have gone home with her if I'd let her. It sucks that they live all the way in Canada now. They moved there a year before he was born so we don't get to see them all that often. Used to see them daily when they lived in Hermiston, so that was an adjustment.
Saturday night we all went bowling and had a blast once again. We were quite the group there in that bowling alley!!! Kaeden loves bowling and did pretty good but was starting to get tired and grumpy as we made it there a little on the late side. And while we were there I remembered "OH NO!!!!!!!!!" We forgot to color Easter Eggs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So we colored them really late when we got home ;)

The Easter Bunny's Goodies for all the grandkids and great grandkids

Sunday morning opening Easter Baskets

Kaeden got an invitation to Blue's Clues LIVE in May, he's just going to love it!!

We finally left about 6pm Sunday night to make the drive home and got home around 10. All in all it was a great weekend. We also stopped on the drive down to look at the animals(similar to a zoo but it's free) and Kaeden got to see zebras, Santas reindeer and a camel came right up to the fence. He wasn't too sure about that camel being so close and wanted daddy to back up LOL Last year he got to see donkey's and feed one through the fence. I just love taking him there on our drive to Gma and Gpa Goodwin's. It's like our own little tradition.

This week I've been feeling pretty good. Until yesterday I'd been 4 days puke free... but yesterday morning and this morning that ended *ugh* oh well, once a day isn't so bad ;) I think I'm starting to feel bean bumping around a bit, but nothing definite yet. I feel little wiggles and bubbly feelings but when I try to concentrate on them they stop. I also try moving him around and poking at him like I did with Kaeden to get him to wiggle some more cause I want to feel it so badly, but he must be more calm then kaeden was cause he's not playing the game with me LOL This could be a blessing once he's born though!!!! I'm hoping in the next 2 weeks that I'll be able to feel him more often. I still listen to him daily and he's definitely in there be-bopping around! I love hearing that heartbeat as does Kaeden. Every night we listen to the baby. Kaeden turns the doppler on and then when we're done he turns it off. He also insists on wiping the gel off my tummy. Then we turn lights off and lay down to go to bed and Kaeden lifts my shirt up to "lay with the baby" which means he' s using me as a pillow LOL He also insists on kissing the baby a few time before he can fall asleep. I LOVE that he's starting to understand there is a baby in my tummy. I love that he wants to lay with the baby and kiss the baby now, as I'm hoping that there will be little to none jealousy once bean is born. My big fear now is that he'll insist on laying with and snuggling bean all the time and I don't want bean smothered! LOL Kaeden is still my puke buddy also and if I"m over the toilet, he's got an arm around my shoulders and usually spits once or twice in the toilet with me LOL He always flushes the toilet when I'm done and asks if I'm ok. Every once in awhile he'll plant a kiss on my cheek and run off.. It's just the sweetest thing, he's like my preggo partner ;) I'm really glad that he was older when I got pg again because I feel like he's "involved" with this pregnancy.
We were watching Life in the ER on Discovery channel 2 nights ago and the doctors had to do an ultra sound on this girls stomach to check for internal bleeding, Kaeden looks up and says "HEY!, that's MOMMA's baby" "Baby is on the computer" He totally remembered going to the ultrasound with me in March and seeing the baby on the compter screen, it floored me and made me want to cry it was so sweet. He knows baby is in my tummy, but he also realized that you can SEE the baby on that screen when the doc is doing an u/s. I didn't know if he really "understood" the u/s when he went with us in March, but I guess I underestimate my little man! He's growing up so fast.... *sigh*
Well I've done very well keeping up with the housework around here this week and don't want to start slacking today. SO if I want to nap with the kids this afternoon I'd better get off here and go clean my house and fold my clean laundry :)

Lucky 13?

Well maybe 13 will become my lucky number. I'm due on 9-13 and I've completed 13 weeks of pregnancy. Today I am 13 weeks 2 days... Wow, I can't believe i made it into that elusive 2nd trimester with no complications! With Kaeden I spotted at 7 weeks and was sure I was losing him, this time around I've had nothing but morning sickness, sore boobies, etc. so it seems to be progressing very normally. The reason I say lucky 13? is because my all day nausea is almost gone! I still puke usually once or twice a day, but I'm not feeling so yucky anymore, AND I've managed to clean up the house two days in a row!!!! That sure wasn't happening a couple weeks ago LOL I have gotten to the point where I'm having problems brushing my teeth as I did in Kaeden's pg, only this time around it hit much later. I'm trying to figure out a "system" so I can get them as clean as possible LOL Like I brush the back teeth first so I can get all the puking done and over with, then start over and go for the front and a quick run over the back teeth with the toothbrush. Gross I know, but it's a fact of my daily life now.

Lil bean must be growing and getting bigger, we were listening to him/her on the doppler last night and the heartbeat was nice and loud. I love hearing that sound, especially when I can find it super easily. I think the baby wanted to play hide and seek though as each time I'd pinpoint that nice strong h/b the baby would move away LOL It was cute though. Kaeden insists on turning the doppler on and off for me while we listen to the baby. I can't wait for him to really realize there is a baby in my tummy. I can't wait for him to be able to put his hands or head on my belly and be bumped around by the bean :)

I had my cardiologist appt on the 4th and as suspected they found nothing wrong with it. Doc isnt' sure my heart even races like I told him it did. He said if it was going 240 I'd pass out. I tried to tell him it's done this since I was 6 yrs old and YES it does go 240+ when it has it's little episodes... Sheesh... So next time it happens I am to go to the ER and insist on an EKG while it's doing it before they do anything else. I am going to get my dr records from 1991 to current, but most of my activity with the docs was prior to then so I'm not sure how much good it's going to do. Guess we'll wait and see. I also had an echocardiogram done on Monday the 7th and they said everything looked boring and normal, although my heartrate was definitely on the quick side. Do you have any idea how badly it sucks to have an u/s of your heart when you're DYING to see the bean in your belly?!?!!?!?!??! LOL

This afternoon I am going to do something brave or dumb. Tuesday March 8th Steven lost his drivers liscense due to the DUI he got on New Years Eve. Even though the courts dropped it from a DUI to a NEG1 our Department of Liscensing suspended his liscense for 90 days. OH what great fun this is going to be. For the first 2 days Steven walked to work and got rides home. This morning he got a ride cause his back hurt so badly. But now whenever I want anything in town I've gotta get off my A** and go drive and get it myself. How fair is that? LOL So the reason I'm doing something brave or dumb is, Steven has an alcohal/drug evaluation he is required to go take in Moses Lake at 3pm today. I am going to load up all the kids and take him and then try to entertain them for an hour or two.. YIKES! I figure we'll go to the park, which wouldn't be too bad, but Sydney is a bit tough to entertain that long at the park. I just hope that he passes the evaluation so we don't have to pay for MORE classes that we can't afford right now.

Well Kids are getting out of control and I think it's time to step in.............. Gotta love the 2 yr and 5yr old's age gap and attitudes as they fight ALL DANG DAY LONG...........

Slacking

Slacking is what I've been doing when it comes to this blog! I've been horrible about updating it, although the good news is since my last update I've made it to 12 weeks pregnant problem free!!!!

So what's new in my life? I went to my appointment a couple weeks ago and the Dr found the heartbeat right away just as I knew he would. I was hoping that he wouldn't find it cause I wanted another ultrasound. I told him let's skip the doppler and go for the ultrasound ;) He went ahead and searched with the doppler, found the hearbeat and told me if I wanted we could jump back for a quick ultra sound anyway if I wanted to. I of course said HECK YES!!! So we went back to the ultra sound room and took a glance at bean. Unfortunately I'd just emptied my bladder and he did an abdominal u/s so it was really hard to see anything. We saw basically a blob with a beating heart LOL I was 10 weeks for that ultra sound. When we were done with the u/s he asked if I had any other questions/concerns. I told him my heart seemed to pound harder and faster and was a bit worried about it. He immediately got me set up with a cardiologist appointment. I went in on a Wed and they hooked me up to a Holter Monitor. It was great fun having wires attatched all over my body for 24 hours to monitor my heart. Go figure I didn't really notice any "funky" things with my heart during that 24 hrs. I went and had it removed on Thursday and have my actual appointment with the cardiologist this Friday the 4th bright and early in the morning.

As for my preggo symptoms. I'm confused. Isn't 12 weeks when they start to subside? Guess not for me! I no longer am nauseous 24/7 but now I usually throw up 1-2 times a day or more. It's great fun. Although I've got the best little boy in the world when it comes to being sick. Whenever I make a run for the bathroom he chases me down and stands right next to me with his arm around my shoulder while I yack in the toilet. He asks me if I'm done yet? When I'm finally done and give him the yes answer he's looking for he will tell me "feel better momma" And flush the toilet for me. It's just too sweet. Now I've gotta teach him to hold my hair back and we'd be set LOL LOL LOL I'm starting to "show" finally also. I think it's about time to start taking belly shots. I know it's not a bunch of baby showing, but that baby is doing SOMETHING to me that is making me poke out quite a lot. Although some of that is bloating (horrible gas bloated feeling all the time) I started wearing maternity shirts this weekend cause it was so nice and warm out and my other regular shirts just don't look right anymore. When it's chilly I still can get away with my big hoodies and zip up jackets to cover most of the pudge ;) I'm still not feeling bean move around yet, although there have been a couple times I've wondered if the things I felt were bean bumping around in there. I think it's still gas though, as much as I'd like it to be bean...

With my doppler I've listened to bean almost daily. Not quite daily like I did with Kaeden as I am pretty sure with all my puking etc beans still safe and snug in there. I can tell that he/she is growing though. I used to have to search for 20-30minutes to find the h/b and now it usually takes less then 5min. Although there have been a few times where it's taken me longer and I could barely hear it. Just get up, walk around, have something to eat, lay down and try again and he/she has usually moved around enough that it's super easy to find and nice and loud! Love hearing that sound, but still want another u/s LOL I was looking at 12 week u/s pics on the net and my lil bean is really starting to look like a baby!!! I want to see that for myself!!!!!!!

Well I have gotta get going but will try to update a bit sooner next time ;)
